Welcome to RiteTurnOnly.com. I suppose the easiest way to tell you a little bit of myself is to do so in the form of a list. So here goes,

Name – Len Kutchma
Home town – Winnipeg
Occupation – Employed in the roofing trade
Interests – Politics, blogging, computers, theoretical physics, reading, science fiction, sports, weight lifting, history (with an emphasis on ancient Egypt) and most forms of music especially jazz.
Favourites – Peanut butter and banana sandwiches, CFL football and all things science fiction from literature to television to film. Favourite writer is Ray Bradbury with Kurt Vonnegut coming in a close second. Favourite television show is Stargate SG-1. (the older ones that is, not the newer ones – the Goa’uld rule!) while top movie pick is Lord of the Rings. Nothing tops a BBQ’d steak and a cold beer after a hard day’s work.
Brief history – Born and raised in Winnipeg, I attended a private Catholic school for the first 9 years of my schooling life finishing the remainder in the public school system. I have worked in several fields including being self-employed for nearly 13 years.
Political affiliation – Former member of the now defunct Reform Party of Canada. Presently I am not a member of any political party although I currently support the Conservative Party of Canada mainly due to the fact the CPC adheres to the philosophy that most closely resembles my own. Having said that I blindly follow no party, man or ideology. I recognize that life is not black and white but grey and try to approach things from that perspective.

I’ve been blogging in one form or another for about 10 years having started in the spring of 2000. In that span of time I’ve gone through a number of sites as my online persona evolved. This site, RiteTurnOnly.com, was born in September of 2004 and originally resided on the Blogger/Blogspot servers. In September of 2006 I decided to move the site to its own domain.

This site has gone through several changes in the last 4 years. As I became more familiar with WordPress, the software that powers this site, my fascination with it grew. I started to help out in several forums the most notable being the WordPress support forum. In the spring of 2007 I shifted the focus of this site from politics to covering WordPress almost exclusively. I went so far as to create a subdomain of this site and relocated all material of a political nature to it. In the spring of 2009 this site again went through a transition. I created a new site, WordPress Canada, and moved all of the WordPress material to it. I then relocated all of my political material back to the main RiteTurnOnly.com site and deleted the subdomain.

With the main focus of this site once again being politics I wrote about the topic with a renewed vigour. Unfortunately my “renewed vigour” was somewhat short-lived. Due to my frustration with the political climate in this country I lost all interest in writing about anything even remotely resembling politics. As the end of 2009 drew near I suspended all activity on RiteTurnOnly.com promising to never blog about politics again once I re-opened the site. Who was I kidding?

RiteTurnOnly.com “rebooted” is a fresh new start. While my political leanings may be conservative I will endeavour to blog from a common sense approach. What happened to the archives of the last 6 years? I decided that starting fresh meant losing the baggage. Besides, why would I want to keep the archives around? To paraphrase Warren Kinsella, this ain’t the New York Times folks.
