WordPress 2.5 Hits the Shelves
Well it’s here. Sometime during the wee hours of this morning or even possibly late last night WordPress 2.5 hit the shelves. While the timing may seem strange to some (Saturday - Sunday) I think it was done this way to coincide with WordCamp Dallas.
Have I upgraded this blog? No. Will I anytime soon? Probably not. Don’t get me wrong. I love WordPress. I’ve been blogging for nearly 10 years and have literally tried them all and none of the other blogging packages can hold a candle to WordPress. I just think 2.5 is not yet ready for public consumption. If you have been following the wp-testers mailing list you know what I am talking about. I know that the masses have been crying for 2.5 citing what they believe to be delay after delay and I only hope this release was not done to appease them while the bug squashing continues to move along silently in the background. Whatever. I run WordPress locally and stay current via SVN. I’ll upgrade this live blog when I feel WordPress 2.5 is ready for prime time - and that time is not now.
