Change Your Login Screen
Are you tired of looking at the default login page of your WordPress blog? Have you ever wanted to change it, perhaps with your own image? It’s not very difficult at all. Although there are a number of plugins that will accomplish this I’ll show you how to do it without them.
The image on the login screen is actually 2 images - one named login-bkg-bottom.gif and the other login-bkg-tile.gif and both reside in wp-admin/images. Simply create two new images with the same names and upload them to that directory. Be sure to keep the same dimensions. Also, depending upon the colour you choose for the image you may have to alter the CSS that displays Username and Password. You can find that style sheet at wp-admin/wp-admin.css
Remember, you are altering core files so any customizations you make will be lost the next time you upgrade WordPress for the new files will obviously overwrite the current ones. Just so you know.
