Japanese Defense Minister on Aliens
While most of the industrialized nations of the world deal with such mundane matters as economics, health care, justice, education and global warming to name a few, Japan is preoccupied with more pressing concerns.
Japan’s Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba is considering how his Self-Defense Forces could respond to an attack by space aliens while adhering to limits on military action under the country’s war-renouncing Constitution.
Mr.Ishiba did add he was expressing his own views and not speaking on behalf of Defense Ministry policy.

Considering the testimony of the thousands of reputable people from walks of life such as astronauts, pilots, radar operators, and government ministers from various countries, it only makes sense that more and more public officials would pose questions like that publicly.

Hi Paul,
While I don’t doubt there is intelligent life out there somewhere I do doubt they are snooping around here. I would guess (and this is only a guess) that many of these unexplained sightings are experimental craft that belong to us.
In the unlikely event we are being visited I should think a race so advanced that it is capable of inter-galactic travel would leave us only one option in a military confrontation - surrender.

You are free to doubt all you want man but I’ve seen ufo’s on a number of occasion. I even believe that the militaries of the world have ultra-high tech and black projects that excede what we can imagine is possible regarding technology. Still that can’t compare to what more and more people are seeing and experienceing … but the denial goes on so sadly by those that wish it.

I don’t mean to make light of those that believe UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin. I just don’t buy it.

G’day Len. After reading further into this news item, I remembered a similar discussion that the government of India presented for a vote. The vote wasn’t about the existence of ETs, but rather about whether or not they should publicly tell their citizens that ETs exist. It’s hard to believe in something that you haven’t seen, which makes it hard to understand why there are so many Christians and Muslims on this planet considering that I’ve only ever heard of one person who could provide proof of the existence of the creator. Just as those people have faith that there is a God, I have faith that he’d be smart enough to have a backup plan. We humans may be fun to watch for the first few million years, but you have to admit that with the exception of technology we haven’t advanced a whole lot in the last 12,000 years.
PS: Merry Christmas, I hope you enjoy all the comforts that the holiday season has to offer.

“… with the exception of technology we haven’t advanced a whole lot in the last 12,000 years.”
Astute observation indeed and one I would agree with.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family Paul!
