Shoot First…
A couple of days ago I wrote about the Taser having no effect after being deployed by Winnipeg police in a confrontation with a suspect. Well, here is some more Taser-related goodness.
Police in Brandon, MB are being investigated for allegations one or more members used the Taser on willing volunteers at a house party. It is alleged both on and off-duty officers were present at a house party in the small Manitoba city where at least one officer and one civilian were tasered at their request.
Meanwhile RCMP have apologized to a B.C. senior who was tasered – the first time while still in his car – after an altercation with police in Kelowna. According to the story John Peters, 68, a newspaper carrier and stroke victim was double parked on a street downtown when he was approached by police who informed him he was getting a ticket. Mr.Peters left the scene and stopped his vehicle at the end of the street where he was tasered before he could even get out his car. They shot him again with the device after he managed to exit his vehicle. Can police not handle senior citizens without tasering them?
But the point I’m trying to make here is does anyone else see a pattern developing?

I don’t see the problem with using the taser on someone who is willing to go threw it. Thats a great way for the force to show the public how safe it is to use such devices.
Perhaps at a public demonstration in a controlled environment. I don’t think a house party is appropriate.
