“Israel’s response…measured”; Harper

Kudos to PM Stephen Harper for his staunch defence of Israel during the current crisis. While many of the world’s leaders are doing the politically correct thing by criticizing the military action Harper has taken a decidedly realistic approach. In fact he met British PM Tony Blair ahead of the G8 Summit and the two held a joint news conference where Blair referred to Israel’s action as “disproportionate”. Harper publicly disagreed saying,
“Israel has the right to defend itself.” I think Israel’s response under the circumstances has been measured, and I think it is tremendously disappointing that these attacks were done in areas that Israel voluntarily evacuated.”
It’s nice to see him have the balls to say that publicly. The bottom line is if Lebanon cannot or will not reign in the murdering criminals of Hezbollah then Israel will do it for them. If I were Iran or Syria I’d be looking over my shoulder right now.
Meanwhile the big bad Israelis for their part continue to allow food and fuel into Gaza despite the fighting. Wonder why this hasn’t been reported by the MSM? (that’s a rhetorical question)
