Back From Fishin

My apologies for not having been around lately but much has happened in these last couple of months including a change of residence. I was actually ready to start blogging again a couple of weeks ago but it took that long for my new ISP to hook me up. Yes I’m back with Shaw.
Much has happened in the news during my hiatus and I’ll not play catch up - you’ve no doubt read it all somewhere else. A few bits and bites:
- I’m not a hockey fan, at least not the NHL variety, but congrats to both the Hurricanes and Oilers for putting on a great final.
- Great work by Canadian authorities in rounding up the Ugly Seventeen. I shudder to think what may have happened had these morons actually carried through on their plans to hit the Toronto Stock Exchange.
- I hear the feds plan to increase our troop commitments in Afghanistan. That’s a good thing. Anyone who thinks the Taliban and their Al-Qa’ida buddies are close to extinction is sadly mistaken. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this mission last at least 10 years.
- I suppose I should say something about the World Cup since everyone I know is discussing it. *YAWN* On second thought maybe I’ll go watch the grass grow in my backyard - it’s more exciting.

I think my tower may have been slightly damaged during the move as the system periodically reboots as if the power supply has been cut off. That or I’ve got a faulty CPU fan but this system is only a few months old.
