Due to the current festivities I haven’t been devoting my full attention to the Klander story but the more I look at it the more I’m repulsed by it. I’ve already commented on my disgust with respect to Klander comparing Olivia Chow to a dog and his calling Jack Layton an asshole. But that’s only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

This poor excuse of a human being has also poked fun at homosexuals and people in wheelchairs. In one of his wisdom-packed posts he muses,

Did you ever wonder why is that when you put a cowboy hat on an actor they look tough and rugged…and when you put one on a politician they look gay?

Excuse me? Are we equating cowboy hats with homosexuality? Talk about negative stereotyping. I didn’t realize the wearing of cowboy hats was an activity exclusive to homosexuals. He also took a cheap shot at Harper and Duceppe by musing about their sexual preferences. You realize that Klander is an adult and not a 15 year old boy. The way he conducts himself on his blog makes you wonder. He then tops it off by taking a cheap shot at Stephen Fletcher, Conservative MP for Charleswood - St.James - Assiniboia here in Winnipeg. In referring to a dispute between Fletcher and federal Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh, Klander had this to say about an upset Fletcher,

This is funny so stop pretending that its not…stop being so politically correct will you?

I’m all for the abolition of political correctness but this has nothing at all to do with pc and everything to do with laughing at someone with a physical disability. Remember when the Tories were raked over the coals, and rightly so I might add, for their disturbing TV ads that poked fun at Jean Chretien’s facial tic? It was wrong then and it’s wrong now. For your information Klander, Fletcher may be in a wheelchair but he has accomplished more at this point in his life than many able-bodied folk have including yours truly. In fact, he has accomplished more at this point in his life than many other folk ever will. Fletcher is a man - a real man who has my respect and admiration. And just what kind of man makes fun of someone in a wheelchair? A small, puny and insignificant one.

I understand you have resigned Klander? Do us all a favour and crawl back under that rock.
