Interesting Find

Regular readers of this blog will know I’m not a fan of public broadcasters in general and the CBC in particular. That said, I’ve just become aware of the existence of a website aptly called PublicBroadcasting.ca which deals with all things, um, public broadcasting. Why am I plugging them on this blog you ask? The answer is because they offer so much more. I spent the better part of 45 minutes or so going through the site and I actually enjoyed myself.
PublicBroadcasting.ca is a Canadian endeavour striving to bring Canadian blogs into the spotlight which of course is a good thing. I’m all for giving exposure to existing Canadian bloggers. They not only feature Canadian political blogs but Canadian blogs covering everything from culture to communications to radio and anything else you can imagine in between. They also have a large selection of podcasts covering a wide area of interest as well as a forum.
With respect to the political leanings of the site owner(s) if they can encourage more Canadians to blog than that can only be a good thing - the animated contest of freedom is what it’s all about, the exchange of ideas in the court of public opinion. I’m glad this site came to my attention and I encourage everyone to check it out.

Thanks for the plug, and I’m glad you liked the site. I’ve just finished polishing the look of it a bit - and I’m glad “Political Leanings [are] aside”. The site is not meant to be political, or at least partisan. I believe in public broadcasting, and the site is meant to be about public broadcasting, and to an extent, how public broadcasting can and should evolve with the times to be more representative and interactive - to be the facilitaror of a national discussion on news, politics, culture, the arts, and anything people decide should be a part of the national discussion; a kind of meeting point for Canadians regardless of where in the country they are, or what their affilitions, leanings, philosophies, backgrounds etc., may be.
Cheers,
Justin
