Changes
Some of you may have noticed that I made a few cosmetic changes to this blog. Every now and then the urge for change strikes me and I must comply. I may tweak a few more things before I’m done but I’ve ruled out yet another template change. I’m one of those bloggers who just can’t seem to stick with a particular layout for any length of time but I really like the current design.
Among the changes I made was a switch to a new tagline. You know those “witty one-liners” you see on most blogs? Since I’m a huge fan of Shakespeare, most of the taglines I’ve used in the past came from his works. In fact, my previous tagline “Screw your courage to the sticking-place, and we’ll not fail” comes from Macbeth. So it dawned on me that perhaps you might be interested in the origins of my new tagline “Nothing is as real as a dream”. If you’re not interested then move on. But if you are, it comes from The Dhammapada, which is a collection of writings attributed to the Buddha. The complete line reads, “Nothing is as real as a dream. The world can change around you, but your dream will not. Responsibilities need not erase it. Duties need not obscure it. Because the dream is within you, no one can take it away”.
Now you know.
