Politics aside for a moment, Blogger seems to have become inundated with spam comments lately. I’m seeing more and more of this garbage in the comments sections of the blogs I visit. Just a tip in case you didn’t know, Blogger now use the CAPTCHA system for comments. From your “Dashboard” click on “Change Settings” then “Comments”. Scroll down the page until you see “Show word verification for comments?” You will be presented with a Yes/No option.

It’s hosted on a separate server so that it can always be accessed even when the rest of the site is down. They also have a blog for developers called Blogger Developers Network where you’ll find all sorts of techie info.
