No Protection For Killer

Posted on | June 30, 2005 |

Kudos to Quebec Superior Court Justice Paul-Marcel Bellavance on his refusal to grant Karla Homolka special protection after her release from prison. The convicted murderer unsuccessfully argued for an injunction that would have placed severe limits on media outlets wanting to track her. One of her lawyers, Christian Lachance, stated that Karla is facing impending danger when she is released as she has received several death threats.

While I’m not going to sit here and condone vigilante-style justice at the same time I have no sympathy for this vile person. She is afraid? Good. She lives in fear? Good. Just a small taste of what she gave her victims. And please don’t give me any of that holier-than-thou crap about her serving her time and paying her dues. I realize that my humble opinion means nothing in the grand scheme of things but as far as I am concerned she has a debt that will never be satisfied. Whatever course events may follow remember one thing, it was she who put everything into motion. Let the chips fall where they may.
