It’s a Start

The recent Supreme Court decision regarding health care services is really stirring the pot and provoking much needed discussion. It’s unfortunate the justices didn’t have the courage to go further but it is a start. What I don’t understand is the nonsense spread by the left (what else is new) with respect to 2-tier health care. Helloooooo. Welcome to the present - we already have 2-tier health care in this country and have had so for a long time so quit your fear mongering. Even here in Winnipeg we have a number of private clinics. But my point is that the government has no right to tell me I cannot spend my money in a private facility if I so choose - especially if I have to wait months on end for treatment in one of their public facilities. Despite recent polls indicating Canadians are open to exploring this idea in further detail, Martin and his Liberals have been running around like headless chickens feigning shock and dismay at the court’s decision. Handsome Jack would be proud.
Anyway, this spectacle hasn’t gone unnoticed south of the border. Paul Jacob has an excellent piece in Townhall.com entitled Canada’s medical gulag. It’s a good read.
