Time for the weekly feed from Let’s Try Freedom.
Voluntary Prohibition explores the idea of rather than the state mandating certain substances be illegal, how about the state policing individuals who request such policing. It’s a great read which opens up all sorts of intruiging possibilities.
In John Kerry: Faith Without Works?, the author brings up an interesting contradiction,
Senator Kerry is on record as saying “I’m a Catholic, and so I am not in favor of abortion. But my stance on abortion is borne of my faith, and I can’t impose my faith on others. Therefore, I continue to support a woman’s right to choose.”
If you are opposed to something, are you obligated to act against it? If not, does the fact you are a US Senator change that? Where do you draw the line between political duty and moral obligation? The post is followed by a great exchange. Be sure to check it out.
